Mercury is turning Retrograde in Pisces… What does this mean?

Mercury stations Retrograde in sign of Pisces. When a planet stations Retrograde, it means that from Earth’s vantage point, the planet has slowed down enough relative to Earth’s motion, that the planet appears to be moving backward. What this means astrologically is that all things that are Mercury ruled will seem to be delayed, require adjustments and revisions, and/or be miscommunicated or misrepresented entirely. Mercury in astrology rules communication of all kinds, any ways of communicating or connecting (including cellphones, letters, e-mails, etc), transportation (cars, planes, trains), and the mind and how we think. First we’ll take a look at how things look on a day-to-day aspect, then we’ll discuss the overall themes of this retrograde period, finally, we’ll go through the Horizon Horoscopes for this Mercury Retrograde (horoscopes for each individual rising sign).

This Mercury Retrograde in Pisces will begin on February 26th, 2026 and will end on March 20th, 2026.

Day-to-Day Aspects of this Mercury Retrograde:

2.26.26 @ 00:48 — Mercury stations retrograde.
2.27.26 — pleasant communication and the ability to communicate emotions well, introspection may go particularly well today, reflection & journaling are great outlets. 🥰☺️

3.7.26 — focus on communication of all kinds especially with Mercury being retrograde, difficulties in communication, data, transportation, thought process, delays, and revisions in emotions and how we love others around us. This Mercury Retrograde will be entirely in the sign of Pisces ♓️. Pisces is the sign of unconditional love, of understanding, and of compassion, empathy, and giving. Typically religious in some way, those with heavy placements in Pisces often believe in a higher power that provides unconditional love & salvation to their followers. They are typically very kind & empathetic and strive to save others.
Themes that may come up during this retrograde “season” may be themes of compassion, empathy, giving to those that are less fortunate than us, putting ourselves in someone else’s shoes, being introspective and reflective of our own actions and how we handle certain things. The retrograde may bring up past situations where compassion & understanding were needed but maybe not provided. Maybe you’ll get a second chance to evaluate the situation and say the things you wish you’d said. Give others grace during this ~month time frame.

Be sure during this time period that you know who your friends are. If there are people in your life with questionable intentions – question them! There could be unexpected news, misconceptions, misunderstandings, delays, and revisions in these areas of life. Try and make sure that your generosity isn’t misplaced during this time period. There could be misconceptions about others that lead to criminal activity at it’s worst manifestation, or consequences. If Taurus is your Ascendant, you may experience themes during this Mercury Retrograde in areas of life such as friends, acquaintances, groups we’re a part of, and income we earn from our career. There may be misconceptions, misunderstandings, delays, & revisions in these areas. If someone seems to good to be true, they may be. Not every friend is worthy of trust and it would be a good idea during this time to watch and be mindful of the compassion & empathy you extend to others and make sure that it isn’t being abused. There could be misconceptions and misunderstandings with your friends, try your best not to get agitated with others and try not to let your emotions take the lead. This would be a spectacular time for therapy. It will be important during this time to stand by your morals and the things you believe are right. During this time you should keep in mind that compassion in all its’ forms is beautiful but that people can use your goodwill to their advantage so be mindful and careful. This would not be a good time to commit any criminal activity if that is something you are prone to. The Mercury Retrograde has a way of bringing things back up for revision that happen during it.

This is typically spouse’s money or income if you’re married, if you are not this can be significant other’s income if you share finances, this can also be debts of any kind – money that is owed (credit cards, loans, mortgages, etc). It would be unwise to take out a line of credit or a loan during this time period, something about this line of credit or loan you may not understand or may be miscommunicated to you. If you have Virgo rising over the horizon at birth, you may experience the typical Mercury Retrograde themes of miscommunication, misunderstandings, misconceptions, delays, and revisions with romantic relationships, spouse/marriage, business partners, the public in general, and open enemies. This transit will typically show up as misunderstandings in your primary romantic relationship if you have one. If you don’t, this will usually manifest as your relationship with others in general. You may miscommunicate with others primarily. During this time give your partner and yourself some extra grace, be transparent, open, concise, and clear when you’re trying to communicate and do the best you can to write things down and get dates/appointments correctly to avoid any arguments. If you are someone without a romantic relationship, make sure you’re giving yourself extra room for errors. Double and triple check for errors during this time frame. There could be delays and/or revisions in your health or routine during this time period. Be flexible and change what needs to be changed, Let yourself feel out the right path. Be compassionate if others make mistakes and be forgiving to yourself if you make mistakes. During this time frame there could be miscommunications with children, delays or revisions regarding kiddos; there could be miscommunications in love or about romance/sex or misconceptions. This would be an unwise time to be gambling, as even if you win, there may be something about the winnings you do not know at the time. Be transparent, clear, and concise in your romantic liaisons and make sure everyone is on the same page. If Capricorn was rising over the horizon when you were born, get ready for some miscommunications! Mercury Retrogrades in general represent themes of miscommunication, misunderstandings, misconceptions, delays, & revisions, but with Capricorn Rising, this will be even more prevalent. Double and triple check text messages before sending (CHECK THE SENDER), make sure you’ve called the right person for the right thing, make sure to attach that attachment to your e-mail. Just pay extra close attention to your communication (both in-person and online). If you take any trips during this time period, expect delays. This can sometimes indicate bad luck with cars, make sure you get a diagnostic check, and if the engine light comes on, DON’T IGNORE IT!!

If Aquarius is your Ascendant, there could be miscommunications, misconceptions, misunderstandings, delays, and revisions (Mercury Retrograde themes) in personal finances and personal property. There could be miscommunications in your finances around this time or what you’ll receive from something/someone. You may think you’ll be getting one thing, but it will be made clear later you’re getting something else entirely. It would not be wise to make any big financial decisions or sign any financial contracts during this time period, wait until after the post-retrograde shadow* to be extra safe. Be mindful during this approximate eight weeks of what you’re signing yourself up for and if you can afford it in the long-term. If not, it’s okay, readjust and revise your plan.

If Pisces is your Ascendant, then lucky you, lots of miscommunications coming your way!
