First… what does this mean?
This means that the slower moving planet Jupiter has progressed along his route on the ecliptic into the zodiac sign of Aries. This does not only affect those that are born when the Sun is in the Sign of Aries, this affects a great many people whether you think it will or not! First and foremost it will strongly affect any sign with a relationship to Aries (which is every sign to some extent), and then it will affect the whole sign house in which Aries falls in your chart.
“I’m not an Aries, so how will this affect me at all?”
These affects will be most prominently felt in the signs of [Aries, Cancer, Libra, & Capricorn], having a luminary (the Sun or Moon) or one of your personal planets here may increase the effects you will feel from this transit (movement) of Jupiter through Aries. Most individuals will have placements in at least one if not more of these Cardinal signs. If you don’t know what your placements are or where the planets were located at the time of your birth there are several free websites that can assist you in calculating your natal chart and placements. Having your calculations set correctly will play a big part in this, so will knowing your exact birth time.
“I’m still confused as to what this means…”
Jupiter is the planet of growth & expansion. This planet represents things such as optimism, luck, spirituality, over-consumption, judgment (with Saturn), generally Jupiter is thought to bring luck & positivity – but you know what they say about too much of a good thing! Sometimes Jupiter’s expansion can be taken to extremes – especially in a hot fiery sign like Aries.
Aries represents topics such as: aggressiveness, fire & flames, weaponry, guns, machinery, vehicles, motorcycles, masculinity in general, independence, passion, & muscles. As a body part Aries the sign represents the head, eyes, & upper jaw.
Okay…so… what will happen?
In astrology, it is all about looking at the stage that is set and the different planets in play to try and determine logical outcomes. If you put a hungry tiger in a cage with a steak, what can we logically assume the outcome will be? This is similar to how astrologers make predictions. We have an individual’s birth chart (which helps us determine how the individual is most likely to act) and the settings & circumstances currently, and that helps us make predictions on what is the most likely outcome given the circumstances.
Many things could happen when Jupiter is transiting the sign of Aries. Themes could come up of guns as this has been a theme (at least in the United States) that has continually come up recently. There could be an increase in gun/weaponry purchase or propaganda, there could be increases in ideals of masculinity, violence, aggression, or authoritarianism. There could be ideals of independence & the self becoming more popular during this time period. There could be increase in topics such as war and violence/military topics. There could also be the literal chance of a large fire (where seasons & climate allow) or even a large weapon. There could be over-eager military decisions made or impulsive decisions.
Impulsive decisions as a whole may increase. Certain people (especially those with lots of Cardinal placements) may have the susceptibility to more impulsivity or irritation than others during this time -however irritation is much less likely due to Jupiters benefic qualities. Typically Jupiter in a fire sign is positive & energetic – if not a little over-exuberant.
What does this mean for me individually?
This could mean several things for you individually – for you to know for sure you would want to consult an astrologer 😉.
You will want to look at your chart and if there are any planets in the signs of [Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn] make sure to be cautious of the chance of over-indulgence, over-exuberance, over-spending, or even over-reacting. Notice Jupiter has a lot to do with abundance. Indulgence now and then can be a positive thing, but too much of certain things is not always a good thing. Watch your wallets especially if Aries falls in your 2nd Whole Sign House. Jupiter won’t be making any outer planet aspects on his way through Aries until he reaches Taurus in May 2023, so a lot about what occurs will depend on your personal planet placements & what whole sign house Aries falls in your chart.

Horizon Horoscope for Jupiter by Rising Sign
♈︎ Aries Rising: This is generally a positive time for your sense of self, how others see you, and potentially your health (given other placements). This could also be a time of weight gain given the proper circumstances. For health purposes, avoid over-exertion injuries to the head & eyes (only if predisposed). You may have more optimism than usual and sometimes, just having a better attitude about things leads to having better luck! You may find yourself in good situations or just end up in the right place at the right time. A lot will depend on your personal planets. A lot will depend on how Mars is placed in your personal chart. Mars being retrograde still in your whole sign 3rd House will contribute to possible debates involving siblings, lawyers, scholars, or peers.
♉︎ Taurus Rising: This could signify many things as this is a more difficult area of the chart to discern. It could indicate secrets involving the topics (discussed again below) for Jupiter in Aries, strengths & weaknesses involving the same themes, it could also (only if the chart is predisposed or the individual is indicated) indicate criminal behavior, hospitalization, or mental illness in the themes revolving around Jupiter in Aries. Mental illnesses involving anger/rage and impulsiveness would be exacerbated with Jupiter transiting through this sign (again this is only for individuals already predisposed this does not indicate everyone with a Taurus Rising will have issues in this area or will somehow end up with these issues). As well as crime & hospitalization would be indicated only in someone that already displays that behavior. Impulsive behavior may also be likely. This could be a very positive time for spirituality and spiritual growth however.
♊︎ Gemini Rising: This may be an enjoyable time for friends, groups, acquaintances, and any topics you may feel strongly about. First and foremost be mindful of indulgence. Of course spending time with friends and groups/teams is wonderful and a great time – but don’t forget to be careful of being too impulsive & indulgent during these times. Another word to be mindful of as Mars is still retrograde in your whole sign 1st House until end-of-March, be mindful of what you say and how you say it & to whom. These placements could involve debating for a cause you feel strongly about, being an activist for a cause publicly, or even helping with a protest. However do be cautious during this time that things do not get out of control, keep your frustrations and emotions at bay, and have patience and understanding, and the helpful sextile from Jupiter to Mars will hopefully provide a little help. A lot will depend on how Mercury is placed in your chart as he will be retrograde from the 29th of December until the 18th of January.
♋︎ Cancer Rising: During this time, you may experience some positivity in your career, public image, or public status in some way. A lot will depend on the Moon’s placement in your chart and how it is aspected. If your moon is positively placed (and especially if you were born at night), it would be an indicator you may have a very positive time for career & status or your public image. Also check Mars & Jupiter’s placements as well as they are both relevant. Things should in general be overall positive for your career & public status depending on other chart factors. Be mindful of making impulsive career decisions or leaps at this time, and focus on using this pioneering energy to give you a burst of creativity in the workplace and renewed passion. Try not to let your temper get the best of you when Mars is frustrating your whole sign 12th House.
♌︎ Leo Rising: For these few months, you may experience positivity in areas such as knowledge, spirituality, religion, teaching, travel (especially abroad), vacations, lawyers, lawsuits, judges & courtrooms, and publishing. During the next several months be mindful not to do anything impulsive, however in these areas. You may be attracted to knowledge regarding weaponry or guns, or impulsively jump into a new religion & are completely dogmatic in regards to it. These are of course just two examples and extremes, but this combination could manifest in many ways. The Sun’s placement in your chart as well as Mars & Jupiter will have a lot to say regarding how things play out during Jupiter’s Transit through Aries.
♍︎ Virgo Rising: You may over the next several months have themes in your life highlighted such as: mental illness (only to predisposed individuals no transit causes mental illness), psychology, deep topics, the occult, death (not always literal, very often figurative), and rebirth of some sort, this can also involve (if applicable) a spouses money or income. These themes are usually heavy and involve a transformation or increase. Jupiter is usually a very beneficial planet, and in a fiery sign like Aries – it can give passion and renewed sense of life if you’ve been feeling down. It can also represent an impulsive or aggressive individual that fits these themes. It could also represent a spouse getting a large tax return this spring, or a pay raise. Overall things should be positive, but much will depend on your personal Mercury, Mars, & Jupiter placements.
♎︎ Libra Rising: This will potentially be a very positive time for marriage (where applicable – if you are married already or engaged), in a romantic relationship (again, if applicable), business partner, or opposite party (if in a lawsuit). Be mindful of impulsivity and over-indulgence in these areas, but overall should be a very wonderful time for romantic relationships if you are involved in one. If you are involved in sales things may be positive for you however if you are involved in traveling sales, be mindful of verbal arguments, injuries to the arms/hands, respiratory illnesses, and possibly aggressive individuals.
♏︎ Scorpio Rising: Depending on other placements in your chart, this could be a time (year or more) of potentially low energy, low health, or strange health conditions for you. You may be unusually susceptible during this time to illnesses. It will hopefully help to know that this should provide you with some extra fire in your health over the next few months. This should help, save any head/eye injuries (only to those with a natural predisposition), you get a little passion back and pep in your step if you’ve been feeling low, depressed, lethargic, or ill recently. Take things easy until you start to feel better, don’t push yourself. Use this time to focus on your health, habits, routines, & pets (if you have them). Make sure you don’t jump into any impulsive dietary choices at this time, be mindful of your health and take health concerns seriously. Overall Jupiter tends to be beneficial, however you’ll need to double check the placements of Mars & Jupiter in your own chart to be certain.
♐︎ Sagittarius Rising: Generally having Jupiter in a fire sign tends toward a beneficial expression and outcome depending on other chart placements. A lot will depend on Jupiter’s (and I’ll still include Mars’s) placement in your natal chart. If Jupiter is well placed this can be a very positive time for areas of your life including children (where applicable), creativity, art, beauty, love & romance, and even gambling & athletics (again if applicable) in the chart. This should tend toward being an overly positive time – however as with the other rising signs, guard against potential impulsive and even aggressive behavior. Things always work out better when decisions are thought through during this time.
♑︎ Capricorn Rising: Overall you should enjoy a positive time for home & family, real estate & property, and roots/ancestry. This would be a positive time overall to spend with your family or spending getting involved in property ownership if you have not already (not during the Mercury Retrograde period, however) – but make sure it is a thought out decision and not an impulsive buy. The key words through this time period will be to guard against impulsive actions. This should be an overall pleasant time for home & family given other placements in your personal chart such as Saturn, Mars, & Jupiter’s placements during this time. You will have a Mercury Retrograde antagonizing your chart during the first part of the year – make sure to check out the Mercury Retrograde post so you are prepared.
♒︎ Aquarius Rising: This would be a positive time for you in areas of your life such as knowledge, learning, communication, language, publishing, writing, siblings, and peers. This will be a generally positive time in this area, you could make a publication (topics around machines, vehicles, guns, & motorcycles would be fitting), take a course, learn a language impulsively, gain a sibling unexpectedly (of course all extreme examples and depending on placements) for hints on how this period will play out for you consult an astrologer or look to the placements of Saturn, Jupiter, & Mars in your chart for clarification.
♓︎ Pisces Rising: This should be a positive time for finances (given other placements are not indicating otherwise), however make sure that the reverse does not become true, and that it is not also a time for increased spending as well. If you have several of the personal planets in Aries, be very mindful of over-indulgence & over-spending. Be mindful of making big impulsive financial decisions during this period – especially when Mercury is in it’s Retrograde period, and even until the shadow period is over in February. Any impulsive purchases that get put on the credit card now may come up for re-evaluation later.
